Rooted in both my Chinese and American heritage, I find grounding and clarity in weaving these two worlds into a single narrative through my work. My diverse upbringing invites East–West convergence, and a detail-oriented take on my personal art and design. Therefore, I never fit my creations into a singular mold since they are rather expressive, open-ended, and heterogeneous. As a firm enthusiast for experimentation, I often push myself outside of my comfort zone in the designs I create as well as the lifestyle I live by, enhancing its diversity.

 

Additionally, growing up figure skating had a huge impact on personal taste when thinking about functionality, but also aesthetics in design. Ice Skating is an elegant form of performing art that transforms into a complex, high intensity sport. Design has a similar concept to me. There has to be something surreal with its clean-cut beauty or playfulness but at the same time powerful in how it functions. 

 

From a decade of figure skating, I was able to follow an eclectic point of view, and it further translates into my design and visual work.
